By order of the Commander of the Operational Group of Troops "Zaporizhia" of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Sergiy Litvinov, the honorary military award was given to the Commander of the Georgian National Legion, Mamuka Mamulashvili, the Deputy Commander of the Georgian National Legion, Levan Fifia and other Georgian fighters.
The Georgian National Legion is a military volunteer formation created in 2014 at the beginning of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. This is the largest foreign contingent in the Armed Forces of the country. The fighters of the Georgian Legion, which is part of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, perform special tasks in all hot spots of the South-Eastern front, defending the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine from Russian invaders.
