She is an active member of the Lithuanian community in Chicago, previous president of JAV Lietuviu Jaunimo Sajunga, board member of the Chicago Lithuanian Center, the Lithuanian Research and Studies Center, Baltic American Freedom League, Vilnius-Chicago Sister Cities, and others as well as a proud Lithuanian folk dancer. She is also a Rotarian.
She has also advocated over the years for Baltic and Ukrainian issues on the Hill in Washington DC discussing important topics that intersect with US interests.
Rima was previously the managing director of Blue Yellow Ukraine USA helping provide Ukrainian defense forces with the vital non-lethal military equipment. Since the start of the second invasion by Russia into Ukraine, Rima has put in countless hours volunteering for several organizations packing humanitarian aid here in the United States before joining Blue Yellow. Since joining Blue Yellow, Rima has worked on providing Ukrainian defense forces with drones, tactical medicine, protective gear etc as well as speaking to Congressional members about the situation on the ground in Ukraine. She has been honored by Global Lithuanian Leaders, received two medals, and multiple recognition certificates for her work in Ukraine.
After leaving Blue Yellow USA, Rima went to work for other NGOs before choosing ultimately to follow the path to becoming a medic. Seeing the shortage of medics, she began her training in combat medicine. She is currently certified at the NAEMT (National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians) combat paramedic level, an NAEMT certified instructor in at the Combat Life Saver level, and is currently pursuing her remote emergency medical technician (REMT) certification.
